Academics
From the early years through senior secondary education, following the ICSE / ISC curriculum association.
Early years
The pre-primary years focus on helping children develop early language, numbers, and everyday skills in a joyful and supportive environment. Stories, play, activities, and conversations encourage curiosity, confidence, creativity, and positive learning habits.
Classes 1–5
At Saraswathi Vidyalai, the primary years build strong foundations in language, mathematics, science, and everyday understanding through stories, activities, observation, discussion, and hands-on learning. Alongside academic skills, we nurture curiosity, good learning habits, and the confidence to ask questions, explore ideas, and learn independently.
Classes 6–8
At this stage, we encourage students to learn to connect ideas across subjects through experiments, projects, discussions, and debates. They develop the ability to question, reason, communicate, and apply their learning beyond the classroom.
Classes 9–10
In the secondary years, students focus on deeper understanding, practical application, and greater academic responsibility through projects, analysis, practical work, and real-world contexts. They learn to use evidence, express ideas clearly, and take greater ownership of their learning.
Classes 11–12
In classes 11 and 12, students combine focused subject learning with practical work, research, presentations, and independent study. We help them build the discipline, clarity, and confidence to make thoughtful choices about higher education and their future.
Beyond academics
Life skills, leadership and communication carry equal weight in the everyday experience of the school.
Life Skills
An initiative started and run by our Grade 11 students, the Saraswathi Vidyalai Bank, gives children an early experience of saving, depositing, and borrowing money. It introduces them to simple financial habits while giving senior students an opportunity to take responsibility and experience what it is like to manage a functioning bank within the school.
Our Maths, Science, Nature and Language Clubs take learning beyond the boundaries of a regular lesson. Students explore ideas through activities, experiments, challenges, discussions, and projects, allowing them to spend time with subjects they are genuinely curious about and discover new interests along the way.
Students get opportunities to explore practical areas such as fashion designing and crochet, cooking, robotics, and artificial intelligence. They learn to use tools, follow processes, make things, solve problems, and improve through practice. These experiences also allow students to discover abilities that may not always emerge through conventional classroom learning.
Our students experience the complete journey of growing food. They learn to prepare the soil, cultivate crops, care for them, and harvest what they grow. They also experience what happens after the harvest by taking their products and selling it. It is a simple, hands-on way of understanding food, work, responsibility, and value.
